Ms. Wynne Muscatine Graham is a member of the Class of 2017 at Harvard University, where she studies philosophy, focusing primarily on the intersection between Western thought and African and Caribbean systems of knowledge. During high school, Wynne became interested in global issues when she got involved in Seeds of Peace, an organization committed to conflict resolution between teenagers from the Middle East and South Asia.

After graduating from high school, Wynne spent a year living in Borgne, Haiti, a rural village located on Haiti’s northern coast. Working with Haiti Outreach — *pwoje espwa* — one of WSI’s lead consortium partners — Wynne helped launch an adult Creole literacy program in the region. The program, known as *”Lekol Alfa,”* serves approximately 200 adults in the region and is continuing to expand.

In addition to working on the literacy program in her spare time and visiting Borgne every chance she gets, Wynne has become increasingly involved in issues relating to mass incarceration in the Boston area. She works as a research assistant for Sociology Professor Bruce Western, recording the life histories of individuals recently released from prison, and volunteers as a GED tutor in a Massachusetts jail. She also tutors recently immigrated Haitian teenagers in English and works on a radio show with friends from Harvard.
