H.O.P.E., a women’s health non-profit organization and a WomenStrong International Consortium member, has worked in northern Haiti since 1996 to meet community needs for healthcare, clean water, economic development and education.
Our Work Together
WomenStrong has helped create the first operating room in northern Haiti capable of safely delivering babies by cesarean section. Mobile and regular clinics for women offer screenings, pre- and post-natal care and family planning, and Mothers’ and Girls’ Clubs reach well over 1,000 families with information on nutrition, hygiene, literacy, financial literacy, job skills and gender-based violence. H.O.P.E., like all WomenStrong Consortium members, values the voices of women and listens to learn what is required to build better lives. Poor women and girls know what they need, and when their 6 Essential Needs are met, they become powerful forces leading their communities out of extreme poverty.
