Lori Sokol, PhD., an award-winning author, journalist and international speaker, is the Executive Director and Editor-in-Chief of Women’s eNews, a global, non-profit digital news service that provides in-depth coverage of the most crucial issues impacting women and girls around the world.
Her essays have been published in Newsweek, The Baltimore Sun, Slate.com, Ms. Magazine and The Huffington Post, and she has been interviewed by numerous major news outlets including MSNBC, CNBC, Forbes and The Wall Street Journal.
Dr. Sokol is also the recipient of the Newswomen’s Club of New York’s award for the TOP Magazine Essay for 2023, the Women in Tech Award in 2022 and 2023, and Curve Magazine’s 2017 Pride List for Achievement in Media and Publishing. Her most recent book, SHE IS ME: How Women Will Save the World (Simon & Shuster distributor) was the recipient of the IBPA Award and a Finalist in the International Book Awards. (2021).
As a keynote speaker, Dr. Sokol represented the USA in Seoul, South Korea and in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where she presented on the topic: The Impact of Women Leaders on the Global Economy.’ Dr. Sokol was also profiled in ‘About Face,’ an installation at Art Basel Miami, spanning the entire spectrum from women’s rights activists, artists, intersectional and non-binary feminists.
