Elen Stepanyan, Co-Founder of Days for Girls D.C. Club of WomenStrong International

Elen Stepanyan is a rising senior at Sidwell Friends school in Washington, D.C. where she founded the Days for Girls D.C. club. She grew up in Armenia, has traveled to many countries, and is currently learning a fourth language. This summer, she participated in an internship program at the World Bank, where she learned how to design and implement successful developmental projects. Elen is also part of a social entrepreneurship program, LearnServe International, through which she has become an effective leader, public speaker, and advocator.

Elen’s pursuits have shown her the importance of studying and being aware of various cultural practices. She is grateful to have been exposed to the sensitive and tabooed topic of menstruation through the Days for Girls D.C. project. Days for Girls D.C. has allowed her to combine all of these experiences and to pursue her passion of entrepreneurship, community service, and innovation.
