Ketayoun Darvich-Kodjouri, Senior Advisor for Communications and External Relations, shapes WomenStrong’s communications strategy, leads storytelling efforts, and is the point person for the organization’s visibility.

Ketayoun has a 20-year track record of crafting communications and advocacy campaigns with non-profits and foundations everywhere from Abuja to Albuquerque. She has worked as a consultant for many years, helping clients tackle issues related to violence against women, education for girls, reproductive health and rights, and achieving greater economic opportunity for all. Prior to launching her own independent practice, she was a vice-president at the public interest PR firm Spitfire Strategies, where she was one of their top-rated trainers and led accounts on children’s healthcare, food insecurity, housing justice, and global health.

She previously served as faculty in the Move to End Violence program of the NOVO Foundation, a 10-year initiative to strengthen the movement to end violence against women and girls in the United States. Ketayoun also has held the position of director of communications at several non-profit institutions, including for the women’s development organization the Centre for Development and Population Activities (CEDPA), where she oversaw advocacy and communications globally and for country offices including India, Nepal, Nigeria, and South Africa.

Currently, she is on the board of the Guttmacher Institute, which uses evidence-based research to advance sexual and reproductive rights for all. She lives in the Washington, D.C. suburbs and holds a B.A. in political science from Indiana University, Bloomington.
